Qualified Teams for the 2014 FIFA World Cup

As Uruguay played out a 0-0 draw against Jordan in the second leg of their international playoff, they claimed the 32nd and final spot at next year’s World Cup in Brazil.

While Ibrahimovic and Sweden miss out thanks to the brilliance of Cristiano Ronaldo, almost all other favorites (including the previous eight winners) have qualified for the World Cup. Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for the first time as an independent nation.

The draw for the groups will be made in the northeastern Brazilian city of Salvador, Brazil on 6 December.

In a wonderful gesture by FIFA, the last living member of Uruguay’s shock 1950 World Cup victory in Brazil, known as the “Maracanazo”, has been invited to attend the draw for the 2014 finals.
