The biggest sporting event in the World, the FIFA World Cup 2014 kicks off today in Brazil. Football fans from around the World are ecstatic about the World Cup as 32 teams will take part in a competition that is celebrated like a big festival. The whole world’s eyes will be on Brazil as the host nation look to win a record sixth FIFA World Cup trophy. The opening ceremony is hours away. People have already started reaching the stadium in Brazil and fans outside the stadiums have attached themselves to the screens infront of Youtube. Its going to be exciting and amazing.

The Opening Ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2014 will begin at 17:00 GMT and will end at 19:00 GMT. That means in Indian Standard Time, the Opening Ceremony will begin at 10:30 p.m. and will end at 12:30 am.
FIFA World Cup 2014 Opening Ceremony Performers
Jennifer Lopez, Pitbul and Claudia Leitte
JLO, Pitbull and local brazilian singer Claudia Leitte came together to produce the official FIFA World Cup 2014 Song “We Are One (Ole Ola)”. They, along with Brazilian band Olodum, will now share the stage on 12 June to perform the official song of the FIFA World Cup and all 3 will also have their individual performances at the opening ceremony. Their 25 minute performance will be coordinated by Belgian director Daphne Cornez.
The 25-minute performance will take place around a glowing spherical centerpiece symbolizing a soccer ball. Made of 90,000 light clusters, the ball will have a total luminance of 7,000 Lux. Acrobatic gymnasts, trampolinists, capoeira performers and stilt walkers will all take part in the event to kick off the festivities.

Brazilian Band Olodum
The Brazilian band Olodum will also perform the official anthem of the World Cup, “We Are One,” at the end of the ceremony that is sure to keep the locals excited.
“Palestine idol” winner and a big name from middle east music industry, Mohammad Assaf has also been invited by FIFA president Sepp Blatter to perform at the biggest stage of them all, the world cup opening ceremony.
