FIFA World Cup 2014 Top Goal Scorers Golden Boot

A brilliant hat trick by Thomas Muller against Portugal saw the German overtake Neymar, Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben in the FIFA World Cup 2014 Top Goal Scorer list.

In a match that was expected to be the best Group Stage match of the 2014 World Cup, Portugal were comprehensively beaten by a tactically strong German team, with Thomas Muller being the destroyer in chief, on the night that will be one to forget for the Portuguese.

Paulo Bento’s men had no answers to Germany as they conceded4 goals and that will now now need to win their remaining 2 matches against Ghana and USA to have a chance of qualifying for the knockouts.

After the Day 4 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, here are the current 2014 FIFA World Cup Top Goal Scorers.

How it Works

The player with the most numbers of goals after the World Cup ends is the winner of the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot Award. If there is more than one player with the same amount of goals, the tie-breaker goes to the player who has contributed the most assists (with the FIFA Technical Study Group deciding whether an assist is to be counted as such). If there is still more than one player, the tie-breaker goes to the player who has played the least amount of time.
