USA 2014 World Cup Squad

If you are a United States supporter, you know this is the hardest group that USA has ever had to face in the World Cup. USA have been placed in Group G, alongside Germany, Portugal and Ghana, which is potentially this year’s Group of Death. However, they have been one of the most improved teams in the past one year, moving up from 27th to 14th in the FIFA Rankings. USA USA will have to be at their very best in all 3 games if they want to have a chance of reaching the knockout stage in the World Cup.

The midfield is the strongest avenue for the USMNT. With energetic, committed players like Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley in the midfield, it is almost certain that their performance will go a long way in deciding how far the United States reach at the 2014 World Cup. Michael Bradley is the best player in the current United States Squad and a lot of eyes will be on him in Brazil.

Weakness: Defense has certainly been a discussion point with the USMNT. The lack of really strong full back options is certainly a concern for Jurgen Klinsmann, especially when you consider they will have to face players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Thomas Muller, Mesut Ozil just to name a few. Moreover, the weakest team in the group Ghana, has a lot of history with United States and that makes things even more difficult for the United States.
